WELCOME TO MMOSA!

 
MMOSA is a professional organization of music and movement educators in the Mid Michigan area that are dedicated to the creative teaching approach developed by Carl Orff and Gunild Keetman.

MMOSA IS A CHAPTER OF THE AMERICAN ORFF SCHULWERK NATIONAL ASSOCIATION

AOSA HAS 100 AFFILIATED CHAPTERS, AND 4,755 MEMBERS

 ORFF is:

• An approach to music teaching and learning
• Combined with and supported by movement
• Based on things children like to do: sing, chant rhymes, clap, dance, and keep a beat or play a rhythm on anything near at hand.
• Teaches music through recorders, percussion instruments and Orff instruments.
• Believes in teaching children to be creative and to improvise

MMOSA is:

Anyone who is a music teacher or a music student is welcome to join us. You do not have to be certified in Orff to belong to this group. This group presents monthly workshops that you can take for PD hours or College Credit through Olivet College.
